Question regarding Applied science Level 3

Hi, my school years are coming to an end and I am now heading into the world of college. I am thinking about studying Applied Science (forensic science) Btec Level 3 extended Diploma. I am a straight A student so far and without sounding arrogant, that is what my predicted grades are. I do not wish to do A levels as I hate exams. I would like to go to university and get a degree in either Chemistry or Biology. I want to eventually work in a laboratory setting examining evidence. I have a lot of knowledge on forensics in general and I was wondering if anyone could give me an insight to this course and if it is the right one for me. Thanks in advance.
