i believe in :

- equal legal rights and opportunities for both sexes
- equal pay for the exact same work

i also believe :

- men and women are very different not just physiologically but especially psychologically, that includes anything from emotions to types of intelligence
- i believe that while men and women are about as intelligent on average, there are very few women who come close or are equal to the highest male achievers in basically any field where human creativity and originality is involved, genius is pretty much male with minuscule exceptions (we would still be living in grass huts or caves if women had been in charge)
- women don't make it to the top in many areas because they are less likely to have the skills and the ambition or they have other priorities in life, which is also biological
- people who want an androgynous, genderless society and see most things gender related as social constructs are out of their mind
- there is no patriarchy in the western world
- there is no rape culture
- no quotas for anything ever (boards, politics, STEM ..)
- porn, lad magz should never be banned and men shouldn't be told what they should like looking at
- disney, lego etc should be left alone to sell whatever they want and stores shouldn't give in to the small % of nutters who want genderless toy areas
- no special scholarships for girls simply because they are girls, no special programs or anything gender related, no extra wheels to the bicycle
- no lower standards in the military, firefighting, police

so am i a feminist?

Personally, I describe feminists as people actively doing something to promote gender equality, rather than just anyone who believes in gender equality.

Hello,
I think you just have your own opinions about things,
But if you feel a certain way never be afraid to try and do something about it providing it is a good thing,
Good luck hun.

I agree with most of those points, feminists won't however.

No, you're not a feminist. How did you come to the conclusion that if women were in charge we'd still be living in grass huts?

I have to say, I kind of agree with the OP, apart from the women are less intelligent thing - I think they can be just as intelligent as men, the reason their impact has been less seen throughout history is because there was not really gender equality back in those days.

I disagree.

I'd say that the OP is just trying to stir up yet another feminist 'debate' (or what passes for one on here) under the pretext of an oh-so-controversial leading post.

However, to answer the basic question ... no, the OP is not a feminist.

not less intelligent on average, but the people who change the world.

it's 2014 and women's impact is still minuscule even though they have more opportunities than men these days (they do better in school, better exam results, more women stay in school, more women gain degrees, special programs and scholarships only for women, quotas in politics , boards etc). doesn't matter if it's business, finance, science, medicine, art, you name it . even things that are considered ''feminine'' like cooking and fashion have mostly men as the driving force. there is basically no area where human genius level intelligence, creativity or originality is involved that isn't a male stronghold.

No, you really aren't a feminist, you're incredibly sexist. Feminism goes beyond matters of equal pay, it's also about changing the pervasive sexist attitudes such as yours.

You do realise it takes far longer than a few years of apparent equal opportunity to undo centuries of cultural oppression that's been imbedded into society's mindset, right?

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything but your post implies you don't realise this

Feminazis everywhere

The OP is a top bird, and her beliefs are based on empirical evidence. Equality is a bull**** concept; men and women are not equal- which sex is superior is determined by the traits you value.

Dear opposers of the OP's points, which points specifically do you disagree with and why?
