It all depends on the subject that you're doing, and can vary between 6 and 30 hours of contact time per week. Check your department/course website and I'm sure there should be a timetable section there, and if there isn't, then email the department and ask whether they could send you the proposed first year time table.
Can be over 30 for some of the engineers... and the architects, I think.
I was approximating.

Anyhows, how is your internship going? Feel like you want to kill yourself yet?
Nope, it's actually really
Yeah, I guess making coffee and photocopying isn't the most taxing way to earn money. :p:

Do most people have to go to uni 5 days a week?.... or are there some days where you dont have anything...

Well, I think that most/all Uni's get a Wednesday off. I know that UCL gives their students a Wednesday off ( I believe this is for Uni competitions etc).

Well, thank you all for answering the question. If anyone is from The Bartlett and currently on the Project Management Degree Course, I'd be most grateful if you could attach a copy of your first year timetable.

No, all universities give students Wednesday afternoons off for sports, etc.

Why don't you check the department homepage or email the department like I suggested?

Haven't touched a photocopier. Nor made a coffee. Less than half a dozen teas. I've generally, despite offering, avoided the whole 'food and drink' trips.
I'm at UCL and didnt get weds afternoons off, I had labs :-(

Oh .... Well Biomed Sci is quite a taxing degree!

I'm at the Bartlett!

I was thinking of emailing the dept too but would they have made the timetables up yet? I don't want to sound like an idiot.
Yes, they should have drawn up the provisional timetables by now, so there's no harm in enquiring.
Problem Classes are there for you to get your marked work back (generally happens at the beginning of the class), and you can stay and run through the solutions with the lecturer if you've had difficulty with them - they're not compulsory, but can be rather helpful if you are struggling.

Support Classes are there for those who are finding the jump between A-Levels to University mathematics a little troublesome, and need some extra assistance - they cover most of the Further Mathematics syllabus very quickly in it, so it good for students who have only taken a single maths A-Level, but again it's not compulsory, and many students do just fine without it.

Anyhows, jb_sweden, as you're doing Maths with Econ, then the only classes you'll be sitting in your first term are M11A, M12A and M14A, so that should give you an idea of the hours involved on the Maths side of your course. Check the Economics homepage to see the hours they expect of you.

Hey spack, there's no need for the capitalisation - we're all capable of understanding English. Also, try reading through the thread and you'll see links to where you can have a look at the sort of timetable you can expect, however perhaps this is too novel an idea.

The Maths side of your course will be 9 hours of lectures (+ 3 hours of problem classes if you should need them), and I expect you'll have 3-4 hours of Econ lectures. Anyhows, try visiting the obvious links and find the information if you want confirmation:

Well, thanks for you help everyone!

I just want to know that I have got into UCL. If anyone sees a black guy walking around London in a group of white people with a UCL jumper/T-Shirt or fleece on - it'll be me (If I get in that is)
