an actual cast or a removable back brace? After my fusion i felt numb for a few weeks but after that no pain whatsoever. I think maybe still too early, make sure you haven't been over exerting yourself... i literally stayed in bed for a month with an hour of physio each day. Good luck

yeh a spinal fusion is not something you should be trying to rush your recover after because it takes a certain amount of time for your bones to achieve a good fusion, exerting yourself too much before thats happened really jeopodises your recovery and you could end up in a worse situation than when you started. You must keep your back straight, no twisting of the spine at all (rotate your body as a whole)... actions like getting into a car must be avoiding and no slouching! You should really limit the time you sit at a computer as well (get back to bed :p: )Keep up with your physio as you'll probably find that after building up the muscles which support your lower spine the pain will fade.

Its a long recovery period which can't be rushed, but its amazing once you make it through! All the best.... tom

Just enjoy the time you have to laze around and just relax maybe get into a bit of reading something that requires almost no physical exertion! Hope you get better soon!
