Weird online people I never understand...

Apparently, I'm a bit unacquainted with internet behaviour despite using it since ages...

Why do certain online people, both girls and boys, both people you know only through internet or people you have met in real life, suddenly stop talking with you for no apparent reason???

One day they talk to you normally, and the next day they sort of block you, "leave conversation" without saying anything, or simply don't speak - forever.

It's annoying because in real life you can go and ask; if there's a problem you can solve it face to face instead of just wondering what they're up to and why they suddenly severed all conversation.

The funny thing is that when I use a new nickname and do as if I'm someone else, they DO speak. And that's annoying...

You might've offended them?

Reply 2

Yeah. Or found someone better to talk to.

Reply 3

Okay, but it's weird when the day before they're all happily conversating with you... I mean, it's fake, isn't it?

Reply 4

I would notice it if I offended them. Or maybe even not, that's the drawback of internet communication anyway. But still, it's a bit rude not to explain at least...

However, assume you're talking to people whose moods vary, I'd say it was normal for somebody to talk a lot one day and then a little the next.

Okay, I could understand a matter of mood.
But I can count at least 20 online contacts who stop speaking to ME and never talk again.
Strange enough, they're mood is normal when you have a new nickname and say you're someone else...

Thats Internet Life.

mysterious, no. I mean: I create a new I.D. and e-mail address, they don't know that it's me =)

I guess you talk too much. People don't always feel like indulging in long conversations.

I understand that now thats why i deleted the previous post.

Maybe its because you cant keep a conversation goin? Or they just don't have much in common with you? Do you usually act the same when you get your new I.D? if so, then whay happens afterwards?

You must have a knack of p!ssing people off  JK, know what you mean though, evry strange. Maybe its because there is no attachment, and people can come and go as they please without anyone being too bothered.

These are online contacts who know you since at least 2-3 years; you know each others family story, school life, way of life, you talk to them everyday like when you go together to school with your real-life friends.
I'm not talking about normal chatrooms or flirt chats

ah, I see. If you know them well then ask them why they do not talk to you online. Or maybe its because they see enough of you that they feel no need to talk to you online:rolleyes:

---> like friends you go to school with every day
(sorry, my fault. Didn't express it clearly above :P )

They probably get bored of you.

Ive had great conversations with people online but after a bit I find it dies down or they completly blank me, like what you've had. I guess the novelty of talking to someone new online just wears off

I don't know, I just put it down to stuff going on in their "real" lives that's kinda more important. I'm still waiting on one of my long time chat buddies to come back from a week long vacation he took two years ago

I sympathize with you. Had that problem with some girls I know. Never never did understand why it happens, and I disagree with the whole "maybe they are bored with you" - when the night before the conversation lasts for 15 hours.

It is made even more confusing when they e-mail you from time to time, asking how you are - what's the point?
