The Cabinet is the decision making body of the executive. Upon being elected, the Prime Minister choses his Cabinet - currently comprising of 27 MPs.
If you were in power, who would chose to be in your Cabinet? Who would you pick to help create the type of society you desire?
I'm not looking for a full 27 person Cabinet, appointing people to specific departments, nor does it have to comprise of people who are alive or were MPs in the past.
My Cabinet would probably include -
- Tony Benn
- Dennis Skinner
- Karl Marx
- Friedrich Engels
- Noam Chomsky
- Jeremy Corbyn
- David Harvey
- Rosa Luxemburg
- Charles Fourier
- Che Guevara
- Hugo Chavez
- George Orwell
- George Galloway
- Clement Attlee
- Pierre-Joseph Proudhon
I know fully well that my Cabinet probably wouldn't work and would become pretty chaotic, but that's not the point.

- Michael Gove
- William Hague
- David Willetts
- Erick Pickles
- Nadhim Zahawi
- Danny Alexander
- John Major
- Michael Heseltine
- Michael Portillo
- Ben Bernanke
- Bill Clinton
- Angela Merkel
- Douglas Carswell
- Danniel Hannan
- Andrew Neil
- Matthew Paris
I tried to keep mine to recent politicians though i'd love to have Disraeli and Gladstone sat in a room or somebody really forward thinking for the time like William Pitt The Younger.
So Gove and Hague would keep their jobs and continue with another term (especially in education and health, i think new ministers make bad changes for the sake of it - let's see the results). Willetts would be promoted to BIS (he's been highly impressive in science). Pickles would keep his job in local government (he's done really well considering the cuts). Zahawi would get a promotion to defense or health. Alexander would be promoted to Chancellor. Portillo would be Home Secretary.
Carswell and Hannan would be under the watch of Pickles who would have a super-department (energy and transport with communities, local government and DEFRA), they wrote a book together on local issues so it could be interesting.
Andrew Neil and Matthew Paris would be senior communication advisers for the government (Paris is of the liberal Tory mix i want to create and Neil has hinted he's of the right but is brilliant anyway).
Clinton and Merkel would be senior advisers to the PM and keep him rooted so to speak imparting their recommendations for effective government.
Bernanke would be the senior economic adviser to the Chancellor and occupy the position of Chief Secretary To the Treasury.
Legally i do believe the PM can bring whoever he wants into the cabinet lord or even not an MP so i suppose mine would be largely unelected but to be honest we simply don;t have the caliber of old or elsewhere.
Major and Hestletine would head the policy of the government, directing it effectively and overseeing that it is competently pushed through parliament.
That cabinet would give me nightmares but i'd love to Chavez and Marx together.

I would include Nigel Farage in mine, probably Foreign Secretary or something. I'll write some names later on. John Redwood would be in there too.

- Adolf Hitler
- Emperor Caligula
- King Henry VIII
- Vlad III the Impaler
- Attila the Hun
- Joseph Stalin
- Ivan IV the Terrible
- Mao Zedong
- Kim Jong-il
- Queen Mary I
- Pol Pot
- Robert Mugabe
I expect that this would produce a centre-left, moderately liberal form of governance.

Expect to see the most far-left and far-right (in the ultra-libertarian economic sense) cabinets ever conceived by mankind on here soon.
Edit: Oh wait.
And the 'Slimiest Cabinet Ever' award goes to...

Only one would leave the room alive. The real question is: which one?
