Yeah I too find the price of textbooks to be a massive factor in relationships, there should really be more threads on it here.

My Cognitive Psychology textbook is supposed to be £148.79 but I got it for £50.74 which is still the most I've ever paid for a textbook.

£29.99. I'd have refused to pay more than that for a book required for a course i've already paid £3000 a year for.

Often you don't need to buy these textbooks new, and you can save ££ by a bit of searching online. These sites are reliable and stock thousands of textbooks either new or nearly new with reasonable postage/turn around time. ALWAYS worth a look.

Alibris - http://www.alibris.co.uk/

Abebooks - http://www.abebooks.co.uk/

Amazon books - http://www.amazon.co.uk/

Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/chp/books-comics-magazines

Goldstone Books - http://www.goldstonebooks.co.uk/

Oxfam books - http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/books
(plus the nearest Oxfam bookshop to your Uni - this will be where gradates eventually donate their books....)
