Lacoste

I was just wondering if Lacoste was considered 'chavish' in the UK, because I've read so many posts about how Burbury has now come to be a staple of chavish dress? [even if the burbury is fake]

thanks guys:smile:

lacoste is being worn more by chavs from my area.

I guess non chavs can get away with wearing it if they wear the labels sparingly and dont have the whole chav style going.

hmmmm...nope, no chav style going on here [sits and looks around] hehe

but grazie for the info
i have lacoste trainers lol. i am most definitely NOT a chav. but i can see how it is seen as chavvish. some of the clothes are just bleurgh

All I have that's by Lacoste are five polo's which I normally wear with some nice trousers or designer jeans...:hmmmm: certaintly that's in no way chavish? right. Anyway, I just like the colours the polo's come in...think its kinda funny that in the UK it might be considered chavish. :p:

Here you could probably only get away with a polo shirt and a pair of trainers without being branded a chav by at least some people, and you'd probably have to be on a tennis court, playing tennis.:p:

Hmmm.....maybe I should invest in a tennis racket and some balls, and just kinda carry them around with me all the time  lol...pretend like i'm off to practice my swing? ya think that might work?

I think I'll try my luck with maybe one or two polo's and watch for funny reactions lol. but thanks for the input

Nah, you should be fine wearing them, as long as you don't have an affinity to street corners.:p:

It looks chavvy on chavvy people. I couldn't be farther from a chav and I wear Lacoste trainers and don't look remotely chavvy.
I think it looks preppy, if say you just wore one of the polo's with jeans or a skirt. Looks fine so long as you're not wearing it head to toe.
It's more designer-sportswear. on chavs, it looks chavvy. my bf wears some really nice lacoste tops in gorgeous colours with a pair of nice shorts or jeans and doesn't look chavvy at all. i've got a lacoste dress (like a long tshirt) and dont think it's chavvy. i also just bought a really nice stripey jumper, it's orange and and aqua stripes, it's lovely, and at £120 it had better not be chavvy!

I love the Lacoste polo shirts with jeans but I can't afford them. They look chavvy with tracksuit bottoms, but with normal clothes they're fine.

Chavs love white lacoste tracksuits, they always wear them in city, with burberry cap and probably argos 9ct gold necklace that they dad brought them for christmas with his dole money.

Lol^^

I have a lovely pink lacoste polo shirt, and it doesnt look chavvy at all. In fact with white linen trousers it looks pretty snazzy!

Unfortunately Lacoste is seen as a chavvy brand in this country, which is regrettable as they do some nice clothing.

However, it's just one brand that chavs have managed to pollute. Others include French Connection, Ben Sherman and Burberry.

It depends on how you wear the polo's, what sort of fit the polo has and what you wear with the polo.
