Nose problem

Okay, everytime I blow my nose, my left nostril starts bleeding. Is there anything I can do about this? I don't blow it too hard and it's only started happening about 1 month ago.

Are you on any tablets which might give you dry skin? I was on Roaccutane for acne at one point which gives you very dry lips and skin, and because the skin is all dried out it makes it more fragile and succeptible to bleeding.

Weak blood vessel? Try not blowing your nose for a couple of days (yes, picking it is a nasty habit, but just try it). It might be trying to scab over and every hour or two you're breaking it by blowing your nose and it's bleeding and having to clot again.

dont have any hot drinks or hot showers/baths. keep a frozen flannel in the freezer so that you can put it on your nose (it makes it stop really quickly) and for gods sake go to the doctor.

i suffer from weak blood vessels an my nose bleeds alot for no reason. especialy after a cold i get bad nose bleeds lasting half an hour. the doctor cant do anything about it for me. you might have weak blood vessels so dont blow your nose. i dont blow mine anymore an its helped alot. how bad are the nose bleeds? i would suggest seeing the doctor too just to rule out anytihng that could be wrong

Just go and get it cauterised, takes about 2 minutes and it will solve your problem.

yeh i was going to suggest that, get your gp to refer you to the ear, nose and throat consultant at your local hospital and see if they will do it for you. Be warning if your gp or consultant doesnt think its serious or life affecting they will probabily leave you to suffer.
