so here i am chomping on a bowel of museli on top of low fat bio yogurt, its my dinner and i have one question

why does health food taste so crap?

The other day i had a pasta salad with pasta, lettuce, onion, cucumber, cress and a bit of chicken thrown in thier. And it was so tasteless.

what i wouldnt give for a deep pan extra cheese pepproni pizza right about now

oh im eating museli cos i was absolutely starving earlier and had a burger so im making sure im being good, Not to mention the fact that the food in the hosue isnt really catered for decent healthy eating (even if it tastes so good)

You can have loads of veg and stuff but sometimes it does *seem* tasteless, are you over cooking it?

To bring it more to life, try adding herbs or spices :biggrin:

Oh and you might get more replies in the food forum :smile:

maybe you don't season your food too well? i dont know...most of my food is pretty healthy and it always tastes good to me. in my opinion, healthy food does not equal bland. maybe you're just used to really rich flavours which probably comes from too much salt and sugar. by the way, you could recreate that pizza at home if you really wanted to and it could still be relatively healthy.

about the museli, maybe you should make your own? or sweeten it up a bit with fresh fruit and honey.
museli is tasteless. have a bowl of roasted fruits with cinemon and nutmeg and cashew nut cream. or eat a mango. or have a smoothie. and eat pasta hot not cold.

You might just have a poor appetite. Whenever I wake up, I really can't be bothered to have breakfast but I eat anyway because as humans we need to eat in order to survive. I don't eat snacks outside of meal times (even if they taste good).

everything i seemed to eat that is healthy tastes of nothing or is virtually taste free

maybe i need to find a healthy cook book or something

Healthy food has so much more flavour than processed crap you get from fast food places. You've probably just got your tastebuds used to all the preservatives and additives that are packed into stuff these days.

Keep eating it and don't eat any rubbish at all. You'll soon start to taste it all properly.
