Can anyone explain to me why girls run their hands through their hair especially around their ears more especailly when a bloke is around.I don't get it.?

Yeah, I've been wondering as well, hmmm.

I remember reading it's a form of subconscious flirting.

Ooh I saw something about this on a psychology programme once...something to do with grooming themselves...lol.

Ok, If a random girl walks past you in the street, makes eye contact twice (or gives you a proper once over with her eyes) and flicks hair, she thinks you are fit.

Ive always found it to be one of the most obvious indicators as to whether a girl likes you. Obviously this isnt the case 100% of the time; you have to put it into perspective.

the other one is fiddling with jewellry:rolleyes:

Trying to make themselves look more attractive? It's commonly assumed to be flirting but I do it at home when nobody's around without even noticing so I'm not so sure. I guess I probably would do it a bit more if I'm with a guy I like so could be a way of flirting but not always.

Maybe phone a sex information line?

actually i only ever do it because i have short layers around my face and when i am talking to someone i dont want these stupid bits of hair in front of my face Lol

its subconciouss indications she fancies you, one of the big indicators actually

I find it really hot when a girl flicks her hair. But if she makes eye contact with you and then does it, it seems as if she digs you.

I never understood this kind of body language, I'm just like...rightttttt..

well, I saw this thing on ITV the other week,
Said, that if she played with her hair, she's probably keen
She's playin with her hair, well regularly,

Just so you know, the better you know the girl, the less of an indicator the hair flicking is. Its more of an immediate attraction indicator.

^^^mother****er lol I was just about to quote that

Seems pretty natural to me - if you're around someone you find attractive, it's normal to be either consciously or subconsciously more aware of your appearance, and doing something like playing with your hair is the result.

dont chicks have feathers? :p:

its usualy when her last relationship ****ed her up and she finds it tough to trust :p:

Reply 18

Lol well I'm a girl and I don't think I do it to flirt  I'm always playing with my hair because I'm quite self conscious and I like to make sure it's stayed where I put it and things like that :p: So I guess I do it while I'm talking to people too, but I do it with everyone. Oops I hope noone's been getting the wrong ideas!

Subconsciously we think it looks girly/sexy/feminine so we do it.
