I need to know what assessment procedures are used by various universities for my intended degree (BA History). This information is missing in most prospecti. is the only way to fint it to contact each university individually or is that information available anywhere in one place?

Unistats gives each course's percentage of 'assessment by coursework', but that's the closest you will get to what you want in one place.

Universities will all be different on this - and also different units within each course will be assessed differently.

In my experience - it often changes year to year and how far you're through the degree! It also changes over time.
Also I would look at whether the degree uses peer marking - essentially where a proportion of the modules' mark is by group work and your other group members mark you.
