Removing BCR's from Tragus Piercings...

I got my tragus pierced last December and have never really dared trying to take it out... although I've now decided I want to change my ring for something a bit prettier!

My problem is... I don't know how to get the ring out! Do I need ring opening pliers? Or should I just ask a piercer to do it (although I'd rather be able to myself for future changes)?

Any advice?

just get your piercer to do it, i've tried so many things and it's just too difficult!

I can do it myself easily now, but the first time, I got my piercer to change it from a CBR to a barbell.

If you want to try and do it yourself, just hold the ring with one hand and push the bead out (or hold the ring with 2 fingers and use your thumb to push it out, like I do). It'll probably be quite tight though, piercers always seem to screw on the balls or tighten the ring so much that it's impossible to get out :P

If it's small, you should be able to do it just using your fingers. Have a towel or something for it to fall on. If it's bigger, you'll need some pliers or similar. I have used scissors, and a teaspoon to open my BCRs!
