Why do people do this

I'm a white female. I've never thought I was very attractive but ppl have said i'm pretty. However quite a few times in the street and in public I've had black or asian men coming up to me asking if i have a bf and sort of coming on to me. However - this has NEVER happened with a white man.

Do u reckon they just tend to be more hard-faced and cheeky (I know this may sound a bit racist but it's true, quite a lot of Asians and black men but NO white ones, and I am white) therefore more likely to go up to someone they find attractive? or do you reckon they just think I'll be an easy shag because i'm unnattractive n they think ill be glad of the attention or whatever?

I have had boyfriends and a couple of white men say they find me attractive but none ever ating like that to me, coming up randomly speaking to me in public. It sort of pisses me off tbh. like these people expect me to be flattered at any kind of attention

I've found the same thing, varying from culture or nationality - I rarely have comments regarding my attractiveness most of the time, but I had about 5 in 3 days in Japan, perhaps since my "difference" was attractive. Also, people from different backgrounds can be more forward in their approach, British people are typically lacking in that respect.

if people have told you that you are pretty-believe it! im not sayin become big-headed about it, but accept that your not ugly. this will increase you self-confidence aswell! and from the sounds of it, the white guys just have more respect for girls! it could also be a difference in cultures, in other cultures which these guys come from, it could be seen as the way to get a girl-to approach her. they may not know how to act and adapt to our culture

It really makes me feel **** though tbh. These people saying it aren't even actually attractive usually too. This might sound bad but it's like i'm thinking - these guys think i'm in their league and desperate enough to be glad of the attention of a random stranger, like i don't seem attractive enough to already have a boyfriend ffs. like i'm ugly and desperate enough to go for some random ******** who just starts chatting to me in the street, that isn't even attractive or charming in the slightest really. Makes me feel even more repulsive :frown:

Apparently asian guys think all british girls are sluts, i found this out from a friend whose doctor is Asian and always offers her STD tests when she goes to him to ask for a repeat prescription of the pill. I'm afraid i dunno why you're not getting white guys. I had the same problem but cos i live in small town i didn't get just asian guys i got no guys at all even though my friend's male and female always told me i was beautiful.

dont ever feel like that, who would u trust? a friend who says your attractive, or the impression you get from a random guy in the street who is wierd enough to approach you like that!? seriously, do not take it as a sign of disresepect or in any way a negative sign of your appearance. i know it will feel like that, but know in your heart that you ARE atractive, and realy understand that it probably is a culture thing. also know that in many other cultures guys are viewed as higher than girls, therefore the guys will think that they can get whoever they want, and as a result go for the most attractive - you :biggrin:

you're obviously pretty otherwise you wouldnt of even been chatted up in the street. Not every girl gets that treatment now do they?

pat butcher is white, and you dont hear in the papers about her being stopped in the streets and sexually harrased now do you?

Perhaps the black/asian men find a feature of you attractive to them that white men can't admire as much. I think you should feel flattered - but I also think it's rude for ANYONE to go up to a stranger and tell them how hot they think they are. It depends on the manner and situation, but mostly its irritating.

Not all friends do that as i said in an old thread in F&B if i look like and arse my friends tell me i look like and arse and i thank them for that so i can avoid the embarassment of going out looking like and arse. If your friends say you're pretty go along with that, there is nothing wrong with thinking you are pretty.

archo has a good point, people like the different and exotic... for example if me or my friends went to say somewhere like spain, and we were totally into spanish girls... every girl we saw would be totally beautiful... whereas to spanish guys they're all just plain and normal.

its like why as an english bloke going to spain, ya get more blatent attention from the spanish girls as you're something different to the locals.
