Wanting controlled immigration makes you a racist according to labour

I'm guessing OP is talking about myself. I jested in a thread about a typical Guardian journalist and responded with my own characterisation of typical Daily Mail journalist - almost polar opposites. I'll let you decide for yourself:

I'm thinking about becoming a journalist for the Daily Mail. I'm a white, middle-class, ex-public school-boy. I lived off Mummy and Daddy's handouts whilst doing my journalism internship (fresh out of Cambridge). I'm a bigot, vote Tory (though I'm on the verge of defecting to UKIP), despise minorities, woman and the working-class.

What are my chances?

If OP can't take a joke then I can't see him lasting very long on this forum!

Is this the same Labour party that has publicly admitted that it got it wrong on immigration?

By admitting that uncontrolled immigration was a mistake are they, by their own admission, calling themselves racist?! :K:

My friend too believes this as I am actually in support of UKIP controlling migration, so apparently I'm racist?
the liberal left wing tend to be a culture of racists - they are the people that believe that minorities are so low and inferior that they should *need* and *require" extra treatment and quotas. they don't ever begin to realise the racist implications of those motivations. they effectively enforce the opinion that ethnic minorities are, and will always be, more needing of help and more discriminated against, and it assumes that everybody is a racist - but ironically this staples in a sentiment that racism exists and will always exists. if it is racist to be on the right thinking that all people are individuals under the law no matter their race or gender, and that no man (or woman) should be treated better or worse than another, then I am disappointed with the direction that we have taken as a society.

I actually noticed that the dinosaur Labour members are right on immigration whilst the dinosaur Conservative members are left on immigration. Weird it's almost like large corporations are funding the modern Labour party just like the Conservative party.

Eurgh I hate it when people misuse the word 'liberal' as if it's synonymous with the left...

I hate it as well but sadly that's the new meaning of it in western society

Every racist I ever met was against uncontrolled immigration. Pretty sure this isn't a coincidence.

I used to have a friend that supported UKIP I cut off ties immediately and told everyone that he pushed a black lady in the road. Everyone bullied him and he had to change schools he deserved it the bloody racist.

Well if he was so young that he was still of school age, you over reacted.

I think this is the confusion here. Racists will be against uncontrolled immigration. But it doesn't mean that if you're against uncontrolled immigration that you're a racist.

I understand the relating reason for people to support UKIP, but at the end of the day, too many members and supporters of the party (just like the BNP) are racists for any well thought vote. I guess it depends on your priorities, but I do believe that by supporting UKIP you are supporting racists.

That doesn't mean everyone who supports controlled immigration is racist. Some people understand that letting the floodgates open for everyone and their grannies is unquestionably a bad idea. Different people have different reasons to support it, racists use the colour of someone's skin, other people look at the economics or social and/or culture aspects of it.
Hmmm a free market for labour or controlled immigration.

In one scenario the private sector determines who comes in and who gets hired.

In the other scenario, civil servants decide who is allowed in and who is not.

When in doubt remember civil servants make better decisions than private sector businesses so really important decisions should be left to them.

Every racist I ever met was strongly opposed to all forms of immigration, regardless of whether it was controlled immigration or not. Many non-racists might want immigration controlled, but racists want it to go further and be stopped completely. There is a difference.
