Any idea why Natural law is not suited to a modern society? What are the effects of the tradition of natural law and its effect on the law of a modern society. This is for my juris essay which is due in soon.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Depends on the type of natural law you are looking at. Within the tradition you have substantive natural lawyers and you have procedural natural law of Fuller.

My take on it is that society is so diverse that different cultures hold different beliefs as to what is moral and immoral, so critiquing laws because of their substantive morality is not always a desirable thing to do. There are acts which are clearly immoral, such as murder, theft etc. but with regards to pre-marital sex for instance the line is drawn.
