Hello all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I am currently studying sports science at uni and not sure if I would like to continue with my studies next year. What happens to my student loan if I do not want to re-apply next year? Is there a procedure I have to follow to withdraw? Your assistance is much appreciated.

When you've made your decision, just phone Student Finance and tell them. It can be any time before the start of the academic year, so there's no rush. They'll make sure that your SF record is updated to show that you've left uni and that no more payments should be made.
In theory, if you don't turn up to uni and enrol at the start of the next academic year, then no SF payments should be triggered. However we've seen people on TSR who've done that and have had problems trying to re-apply for funding after some time out, as their SF records were inaccurate.
Best to tie up the loose ends and make sure that both the uni and SF know exactly what's happening.
