I didn't get into my first two choices, but I have unconditionals from both Warwick and Exeter and am not sure which place to pick. Regrettably I am currently on a gap year in China and won't be able to view either places. Any constructive information or advice would be helpful thanks!

I know others will say this, but have you compared the modules at the two universities? One difference between the two for language students is that Warwick does their year abroad in the second year, Exeter does it in the third.

I don't think this is true. I have a friend doing English and French at Warwick and she's on her year abroad in her third year.

Maybe it depends on the course. For Italian it's the second year.

Yeah I've looked at the modules: they are both excellent. Warwick course structure seems slightly more traditional, although I'm confused whether their Medieval English modules are open to joint school students (which is what I'm interested in). Will be emailing them on that! Exeter offers creative writing modules, which I'm very interested, but I don't know how good they really are or if it's worth studying creative writing at university, rather than just in my free time- looking for someone currently at Exeter who has taken the module to tell me what he thinks about it. Otherwise I really don't know. Course content is the main deciding factor for me. In terms of location, reputation etc. I really can't tell. I haven't been to either and they seems to have about the same reputation?

Course content is definitely the most important, but whatever other information you could give me is welcome
