I'm not sure, but it might be worth visiting that good old GP fellow we all know and love.

I've done it 3 times I think. But it was just a phase- i.e. when I was growing and hormones etc. Was when I was about 9-13 I think. How old are you (OP)?

It could indicate low blood sugar - I would second bunthulhu's assertion that you should go to the GP.

After passing out... has anyone ever found that afterwards you feel really refreshed like that was the best sleep of your life?

Dunno, I think some people just pass out more easily then others. I have only passed out once because of a lack of oxygen but I know several people who pass out quite easily.

Nope. I've normally been very thirsty and over heated. Also very embarrased. I don't think you're 'asleep' as such. However, I have had dreams when I passed out.

Im 20, first time It happened I was 11 at primary school, then it happened at 14 when I had flu, then at 17 when I started work lol and twice when I was 18 due to period pain. I went to the gp each time and he said it was a simple faint, but he has been known with others to not diagnose serious things.

Ive had all that checked, im always told that im healthy even though I don't feel it a lot of the time.

To be honest I have found once that after an hour of fainting I feel refreshed. (the period pain caused the fainting that time though)

It sounds like the occasions when you have fainted they've been when you might have been extra nervous- hence started work. Maybe it's a nerves thing? In which case there's lots you can do to try and calm your nerves. I'm not an expert on side effects of periods, so I can't really suggest anything you can do for that. But for the others; maybe nerves?

Many times, alcohol induced though :p:
Done it once in the bathroom and panicked (I was hallucinating too). That morning I went into school, and Dad had to pick me up half an hour later - went to reception because I felt ill, fell asleep, and wouldn't wake up (apparently it's possible to faint or something in your sleep, lmao). Two days later was in hospital because of an appendix infection .

I feel faint/dizzy a lot, but I don't often faint. I just stay dizzy for AGES. You know it's pretty bad when I faint, IMO, because I *never* do it. I don't faint when I have panic attacks either. Feels like I will, but I don't.

Last year I went through a period of having to hold onto walls etc. because I kept feeling so dizzy and faint, and this went on for MONTHS, but I didn't faint once! Really weird!

Only when I've either stood up too quickly or had a piercing

Yea it is probably my imagination and nerves a lot of it, I mean I get really panicky when I had period pain (sorry to keep mentioning it) so again its probably nerves.

I passed out when my sister punched me in the nose. Bad memories.

Never from alchohol though.
I passed out 7 times, once after I found out my ears had gone septic, once at the dentist after having 2 teeth out, and embarssingly, 5 times from alcohol, that hasn't happened in just under a year though, the last time was as level results day. I've learnt my limits better since then.
i've passed out a few times, it only started happening when i was 18, never found out why though.

*edit: i did get diagnosed with anaemia not too long after, so i guess that'd be it lol

I passed out once whilst playing the saxophone - in the middle of my lesson. Fell backwards into a glass cabinet! Gave my teacher a bit of a shock...

Also got knocked out when I was younger.
i managed to pass out when i accidently stabbed myself with a craft knife in art....i lost quite a lot of blood!

um and ive also passed out at a conference thing where it was really hot and i was dehydrated - god the embarassment.

it is a character building experience tho :yy:

For gods sake, people suggest going to the GP at the drop of a hat nowadays. It's obvious she doesn't faint frequently so why bother? Lots of people faint now and then.
