What?????

Hiya people,
Anyway, here it goes... I went to a friend's 18th birthday party, I was dressed up nicely and had my hair down and I felt confident.

There was lots of different people there and I've totally enjoyed it, there was fabulous music and everyone was having a great time..etc

This lad, lets call him Adam came up to me; we started talking and clicked staright away as we had sooo much in common, he's 20 at university and I'm 17 in 6th form.. the next day, he sent me a text asking if I wanted to go out with him to a restaurent; I replied that I would love too. But the problem is he doesn't know I'm hard of hearing and that I wear two hearing aids, my friends says I can talk perfectly well and I'm good looking..etc But I'm scared he'll think differently of me if he found out and I don't really know how to tell him.

So can anyone tell me how they would feel if someone you like told you that he/she was hard of hearing? :frown:

Any helpful advices appreciated.

if he likes you he won't be worried about the hearing aids
I don't think it will be an issue chick, go to dinner with him and just tell him, something like that should not get in the way of the relationship if he is a decent fella!!! Go for it, look sexy and have a fabulous time!

Yeah ditto, don't be worried about it  If he likes you enough to take you out for a meal, then provided he is a half-decent guy he won't care at all!

Don't worry yourself! Enjoy
he wouldnt be bothered at all unless he has to shout. not a good idea in a restaurent

I wouldn't even begin to consider it an issue. Go for it!

I'm sure he won't be bothered. It'd take a pretty small person to let that affect whether they like someone. I certainly wouldn't be put off a cute guy if he had a hearing aid.

he sounds lovely as do you!

imho there isn't really a need to 'forewarn' him or anything like that as it's not big enough a deal - when he sees them i'm sure he'll twig what they are!
Personaly i would consider hearing aids a turnoff. But certainly not a 'deal breaker' just a bit off putting.

Why is that? I don't exactly go 'what' all the time...lol..
its the same as going out wearing contacts and then seeing him again wearing glasses, i wouldnt feel the need to tell him i wore glasses. if your really bothered by it then wear your hair down again but if hes worth anything then he wont mind about them.

I'm not totally deaf, I can hear well with hearing aids at least...But I just dunno whether to tell him ' Oh I'm hard of hearing btw...' that would be awkward...

Its jsut they dont look very good, in society we are used to people wearign glasses and they also look fashionable as a result.

Hearing airs are not made with fashion in mind, just made to be practical. If they where more 'sleek' and smooth (as they are rather square) looking it would not be a problem.

I think if i liked a girl more for her looks it would be more offputting then if i liked her for her being fun, since hear aids might damage your look slightly but wont sotp you from being fun.

Dont worry, even if it reduces your chances of a random pull at a party, if some oen truely likes you they wont be too bothered about it.

Psh. Personally I wouldn't go out with a guy that fashion conscious. Thankfully most guys are able to see past something so superficial, so don't worry OP
