Well if you were fare-dodging anyway (which is what I assume this is about, I don't go to London much and I don't use public transport generally) why show them the card that had your details on it.

Just leg it.

is that what you had to pay? its hard to fake a address cos they had mobiles and everything, checking up details.

I should have pretended to be a foreigner who doesnt live in london. goddammit.

whats an oyster? (aside from the obvious clam thing)

Yeah, those ticket inspectors are annoying when you're fare-dodging. You think they'd just let you get away with it, wouldn't you?

It's a top up card thing that you beep when you get on and off the train or bus and it takes off the relevant fare. Only in London though. It's also a conspiracy to keep track of all our movements, as your card is registered to your name / address so the tube people know where you are at all times.

It's funny how people complain on here when they get caught, as thought they don't expect it to happen to them or that they should get off free if they are caught...I've seen it so mnay times now.
If you don't pay, be prepared to pay a fine with no complaints is all I have to say, oh, that and also don't come complaining you got caught too.

People aren't perfect so of course some are going to try and sneak through every once in a while. And it's oerfectly natural to whinge about a fine, even if it was your fault. Just like when you get a speeding ticket - it's your fault but it's still irritating, so you moan. It's human nature.

People shouldn't moan though, unless of course it is to complain about how stupid they were in fare-dodging or speeding in the first place.

I don't whine about the fare itself, but the price of the fare :p:

I ain't paying that expense, its a liberty! I get childs tickets if I can get away with it (e.g. no inspectors EVER on train).

But yeah, you just gotta pay the fine and bare it :frown:

At the end day people skip fares because they can't be bothered to pay for a service (fully knowing that they could be caught in the end).

If the price wasn't so expensive then more people would be paying for it, and the fact that, bendy buses make it easier for fare-dodgers to get away with not paying for a fare.

If I am fined for £40, then I'm going to bunk another 40 bus fares to recope my money back

I hope you get caught out on each of those 40 other ocasions too and get at least another £40 fine for each one

Why on earth were you using the bus for one stop?
