Right I've never done circular motion for maths, only for physics, so I'll have a go at helping you but i'm fairly useless so it'll probably be wrong.

Basically the way I see this is, if the particles remain on the turntable, then the centripetal force equals the tension, T.

This means that T = mv^2/r (or T = mrw^2) - where w is lower case omega.

So you might want to start from there.

Resolve radially towards the centre for an individual particle and apply the condition for circular motion.
