Laminating does seem to be going a bit far. If you just put them somewhere safe in a plastic wallet they should be OK. If you can't remmeber where you put then, write it down in your diary, or stick a note on the inside of your wardrobe door or something

I have a certificates folder, where I put all of my school awards, music exam certificates, exam certificates, and the like. They're all in plastic wallets, and I should think they'd be safe enough there - it will never be anywhere else.

This is what I do with all certificates. It helps if you keep them all in one place for exam purposes - perhaps in a folder of a specific colour and always in a certain place, that way they are less likely to be misplaced - although it is often difficult not misplace things!
Frame them and put them on the wall. :p:
Firstly I would suggest that when you handle your certificates you wear sterile white gloves and hold them with tweezers.

Next you should coat them with a fire retardant liquid (Im sure you can get it at B&Q) and when dry laminate them several times.

Next place them in an airtight container from which you should extract all the air and take measures to reduce the humidity and maintain an ambient air temperature.

If you're still not happy, why not invest in a bullet proof vault in which to securely lock your certificates lest something dreadful happens...

Personally I would not laminate them as on my GCSE certificates there is a heat-sensitive spot or something which changes colour when you press it.
Laminating may affect this and so theoretically render the certificate void, although I am not entirely sure.

I keep mine in a hard plastic folder in a safe but hay thats just me

I lost mine for ages then put them back where they were in the first place. They're in a folder with other school type stuff.

Me too, the only problem is, say we had a fire, they'd all be destroyed in one go!

That's why I sleep with the folder under my pillow every night as an extra precaution.

You can get fire-proof boxes to put things in. That's what we do with birth certificates, passports etc.

Yeah, thats where i put mine.

Although after about 6months it was clear the toner was coming off onto the folder itself, so then i put them in plastic covers, inside the thing!

You too?!

Yep- all of my certificates are in one of those zip up plastic folders in my chest of drawers. You could put them in your record of achievement, but I'm not sure as to whether you put the actual certificate in there, or whether you put a copy.

ive laminated one.. the onlt 1 hav cos i did it a year early n thats only cos my grandad got a laminator and i wanted 2 try it out
Dude, please don't laminate your certificates. Imagine having to show them to a prospective employer! Embarrassing. Having said that, don't actually lose them like I did.

What conceivably will we ever need the certificates for though? I mean they're nice to have and everything - but your grades will be on record - so essentially they are just some fairly worthless pieces of paper..
