Portsmouth info, course help.

Hi all,

I'm Sam and 20, so a bit late starting compared to some!

I'm a Fareham local, not far from Portsmouth city so know about location etc, but not from a students pov.

Where's best to live? Is it worth having a car or is everything close enough, and is public transport good?

I've got two unconditional offers from Portsmouth for Criminology and forensic studies, and also Criminology and criminal justice.. anyone have any reviews/comments on either?

Thanks in advance for any help, I can't wait to start and get out in Guildhall!

In terms of halls, if your doing forensics James watson are probably the best. They are all reasonably close but you could literally zip wire from JW to the biology labs/lecture theatres.

You will not need a car for getting around portsmouth.

Best place to live in terms of renting a house rather than halls is Southsea. The area around Sommers town is pretty much all students

Most students I know, and I know alot (I'm about to gradaute, fml), live in this area here (link) I know thats not very useful if you don't know the area but those road names are good bets when looking for a house.
