well I might be going there this september for Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics. So far, I believe that Heriot-Watt is currently the leading actuarial department after lots of research being done. I am not too sure about other courses but from what I know, the 2 main core of HW are actuarial and petroleum engineering.
If you want a couple of pictures to gain some infight on how life at HW is, try visiting tis web page:
I'm applying for september 2007, hoping for the best! I got an offer, the main thread's over here: http://thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?p=7256175#post7256175. I chose it 'cause it looked nice online. Are there any engineers I really _have_ to meet when I'm visiting (from switzerland like me, for example), I'll be there at february half term.
Computer Science here at Heriot-Watt is a very good course. I'm doing IT, but most of the classes are with the CS groups, and the lectures/labs are very good.
If any questions about the course, and what you learn, don't hesitate to ask me, and I'll try and help you.
