A friend of mine did work experience at sainsburys when we did experience a few years back.
She stacked shelves and went on the tills a couple of times.

I did mine a while back. It was in Dorothy Perkins and it was 9-6. Basically from the time they opened to the time they closed. My job was to basically tidy the shop. Fold the clothes, sort the hangers, etc.

I did work experience in boots last year, I worked 9-5 and I stacked shelves, re-made displays, checked dates on items, tided stock area etc.
It was alright actually, quite hard work but at the end i got free makeup and perfume:biggrin:

It's not that i want a career in retail or anything it's just that not many people would accept a 14 year old in year 10
At least it's a bit of experience

If your school allows it you should definitely go with the army for the week - best week ever and you can put a decent amount on your cv just from that

Unless you're fat and can't run in which case, retail for you :nopity:

We've been given some ideas such as hospitals (but you'd only be a porter) or even like construction sites but obviously that's only if you want to go into that. Also where I live there's only one bus an hour, so say I have to be there for 8am I'd have to get the 6:45am bus  which tbqh, is not happening. 9am start is all I can do ;o

I did mine in Marks and Spencers
9-5
All I did was putting out clothes from changing rooms back onto the racks and sizing (putting the clothes in size order)
I did mine for a week and was kept on the same section so it was a bit boring. You will probably have to answer customer questions so make sure you're polite while getting another member of staff to answer the question
Oh and wear comfy shoes! I wore flat shoes but my feet still hurt because I was standing all day and didn't get that many breaks

My original post is from 9 years ago.
I'm not sure how she went about going there, but in any case, it's probably changed in the above 9 years since she went there.
