very true. It's going to be a waste of good talent if he does spend his career on the bench, leaving the England team... Nowhere...

Who do ya think Man City will buy with this extra cash they have lying around?
andy cole, but remember man city are in a heap-load of debt

he won't go to spurs imo
No, and I don't want him to come either - not a fan of big-money buys after Rebrov!

We spent around £14 million on a dozen players last season!

In that 11, who isn't there...

Cudicini - One of the best keepers in the Premiership. Would get into any of the other 19 teams without any effort.

Bridge - England international, quality left back.

Huth - One of the more promising young Centre backs. German international.

Glen Johnson

William Gallas - France international

Tiago - Portuguese international

Carlton Cole - England U-21 international

Joe Cole - England international

Eidur Gudjohnsen - one of the best forwards in the league

Didier Drogba - 16 goals this season.

Geremi - Cameroon international

Jiri Jarosik - Czech international

And then there's all these youngsters they're getting (about 10 new ones).

Chelsea domination coming.

Not too many people rate him but if he got more games I'd think he'd do pretty well. Perhaps not a definite first team for his position but a trusty back-up if and when required. John Terry wasn't exactly too great when he was a youngster himself and now how people talk about him.

I reckon Mourinho will take this rather marvellous opportunity to transform Robben into the striker he's always been destined to be.

I was thinking more along the lines of the orthodox striker role he had for FC Groningen.

Well he played for their youth team a for a while before he broke through into the first team. Of course, it was the PSV youth team where he impressed the most. Actually, tbh, he probably never played for Groningen's youth team, it must have been their reserves. It doesn't make sense otherwise. But yeah, for PSV's youth team he scored something like 50 goals in 30-odd games before PSV sent him out to Groningen.

I bet SWP figures in about 25 of the 38 premiership games, not too mention about another 25 or so cup games (i'm including the CL in that). So, say he plays in 45 games next season for the current premiership champs - hardly bad going is it? And I have a feeling svennis will be watching a hefty proportion of them. I thought he'd go to Arsenal to be honest.

Lyon want £32m for Essien... made me chuckle.
Chelsea have said 'get stuffed'.

Incidently the match against Benifca (sp) was crap last night, even if Chelsea did win 1-0. (on goal at that) Very booooorrrrring. So much so I fell asleep at half time. Didn't miss much as they scored in the first half.

SWP has signed on the dotted line this afternoon I see. Wonder who is going to be next?

Must be one of the most boring Chelsea games I've seen for some time. The games against Milan, however, should be totally different and no Shevchenko to take their free kicks this time.

I saw an article today (cannae remember which paper) quoting Joe Cole as saying "Chelsea can buy whoever they want... Joaquin, Figo, SWP..." or something along those lines. Makes me laugh really.

If we can buy whoever we want we'd have Shevchenko by now.

My sentiments exactly... not to mention Gerrard, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Henry... this list is endless.
