Sometimes. I was going to ask you if you watched MUTV but thought against it

From time to time
I saw the season that Newcastle effectively lost the title. The Man Utd v Spurs game had a terrible refereeing decision - blatently a corner for Spurs, awards the goal kick and Man Utd score a goal from it. The boos after the goal - woah. Thankfully these don't happen much any more.

I watched the 96/97 one yesterday. Was a close year before Man U pulled away at the end partly because of the Arsenal - Liverpool game. Ended up 2-1 after a very dubious decision. Fowler was played through and knocked it too far past Seaman. Seaman pulled out of the challenge and Fowler went over him with no contact and the ref awarded a pen. Fowler even protested to the ref saying that he hadnt been touched and that it wasnt a penalty yet for some reason the ref still gave it. Fowler ran up and made a poor effort of it which was saved probably deliberate only for the **** McAteer to put in the rebound

Yep. I think it's safe to say that refereeing has improved in standards over the years.

Ah yes I know that but would go on forever if I went on other examples. Just mentioned the older example because I have a Geordie friend. :p:

Yeboah for Leeds scoring that goal against Liverpool was pretty neat. Erik Edman's against Liverpool was great too. Crespo's against Arsenal two seasons ago was funny.

Will never forget Kanu's last goal against Chelsea in 99 after being down 2-0. Scored a hattrick to give us the win 3-2 but the last goal was sublime. Or possibly his goal against Tottenham in 99 where he flicked it over his head and lashed it in the net. Cant believe how crap he is now when he scored goals like that.

No particular order:

1. Maradonna's antics vs. England (Mexico 86)
2. Zidane vs. Leverkusen (2002, CL Final)
3. Carlos vs. France (1997, friendly)
4. Ronaldo vs. some team (when playing for Barca)

Can't forget some of Pele's magic either.

Not in the premiership but Trevor Sinclair's overhead kick in 97 from outside the box in the FA cup has to be the best goal ive ever seen. Brilliance!
