If everyone's fit I'll go for

Robinson
GNeville Ferdinand Terry ACole
SWP Carrick Gerrard Downing
Rooney
Owen/Defoe

bring on Crouch and Becks if things are getting desparate and play long balls

Notice his pro-Liverpool bias. Crouch can be useful though but to choose him over Rooney, despite needing to grow up a lot, baffles me.

Then again placing Ferdinand over Terry is a joke. The best defender in the CL awards last season not even in the England squad!
What on earth? Rooney is suspended - meaning he can not play the next qualifier. In fairness, I'd forgotten about Terry, had the NI match in mind, so I'd probably drop Carragher for him.

(Original post by NDGAARONDI)
Mind you, if Kaka was playing for Chelsea Raindance would still say Gerrard I bet.
Kaka is a better AM than Gerrard, most definitely. But he can't fight like Gerrard can, or defend for ****. If he joined Chelsea, I couldn't change my tune. Simple.

(Original post by mc_watson87)
Effective tho, non?

Jan Koller aint much technically at all, but is top goal scorer in the European qualifiers with 9 goals.
Hammer. Nail. Head.

Crouch ain't much, but he'd compliment Owen well - as seen in the American tour. He wouldn't be picked over Rooney, but he offers so much more than 6'7. If anyone bothered to watch any games involving Crouch, rather than jumping on the bandwagon, you may see where I'm coming from. Owen & Defoe? Forget it, might as well go home. Run the same lines, want the same balls, both 'specialist' strikers. Neither will hunt for the ball (a la Rooney), and neither will link and create (a la Crouch). You'll be left with a confused, fragmented attack, with neither Owen or Defoe knowing where to be so as not to stand on each others' feet. Unless, of course, you want to do a Sven and force the square peg into the round hole.

I would prefer it if he just wasnt picked at all so then he couldnt get injured or tapped up
I'm rapidly coming to the same conclusion. As is Rafa, I believe - also sick of our players getting injured on international duty. Still can't forgive them for Redknapp.

Who is Luke Young? I have never heard of him.

This is my 4-4-2 formation for England. I hope that Eriksson will keep his job but I don't think so.

Kirkland

Ferdinand/Terry/Carragher/ACole

Gerrard/Lampard/Philips/Beckham

Rooney/Owen

1514: GOAL Newcastle 0-1 Fulham
A defensive shambles which starts with a poor Steven Taylor backpass allows Brian McBride to tap in. Not the start Owen or Newcastle wanted.
