Abramovich expenditure = £450,000,000 +/-.
Chelsea income = 1 League Title, 1 League Cup.
Which shows that the English Premiership is just as bent as the Scottish Premiership to put it politely.

Attendance figures at the Bridge today were atrocious. 1/3 ground empty on the first European night of the season? It's pathetic!
Can't say that your attendance figures last season were that great like against Olympiakos etc. Let's see how Arsenal do in attendance against FC Thun then.

42,045 people were at Anfield for the Olympiakos game. I don't get what you mean. How many people do you think Anfield holds?
Attendances are expected to be low, but then, they are playing Thun.

This is my point. Even when big teams play against smaller opposition there will be less demand for tickets. Handy tip if you haven't been to a game and go to any home fixture. I think Anfield's stadium carries about 55,000 but I could be wrong and I haven't checked. When Liverpool plays at home against Chelsea I'll expect more to be at the stadium to watch it than against Villareal, similarly I believe the same will be true with Arsenal against Sparta Prague than against FC Thun.

Congratulations on the win by the way.

The only european game Anfield wasn't sold out last year was Monaco when the ticket office decided to sell tickets without telling anyone and not post them out

I don't blame the chelsea supporters for their attendance. £40+ is pathetic.

i remember going to Arsenal v Panathinaikos in the Champions League a few years ago at Wembley. Ticket prices were generally only £10-15. Wembley was packed with 75,000+ people.

The fact that the USA are always in the top 10 shows how much of a joke the ranking system is.

It's closer to 45000.

Keane's apparently out of the Utd game. Fletcher + Smith vs Xabi/Stevie/Momo? We'll be shaking in our boots!

Yup yup, but they generally have the usual Manchester United players on the team. The difference is, for once we have a relatively fit squad, a decent manager, and a good run.

Aye, but cut the supply and they'll be screwed. I wouldn't be surprised to see us crowd out the midfield, keep the ball, and watch Rooney's tantrum. Either way, Rafa will have worked something out.

I can't believe SAF is considering Smith as a holding midfielder- the guy only knows how to lose possession and to break someone's leg:mad: Why doesn't he revert to a 4-4-2? The stupid noob had keane and giggs on the bench against Man City, when they're the guys who could have won the game for us.

I don't know why he's letting Richardson play:mad:

But he should be playing against teams like Wigan etc. I think if you've got Giggs and Park, then why play Richardson? IMO he should've played another season on loan to WBA- cos they desperately need him.
