Hargreaves is a great player - i spotted him a few years ago before many peoples heard of him
You have great scouting potential.

Or you have been playing Championship Manager too much.

Arsenal have been interested in the past.

As a United fan I'm interested too.
Oh well.

Next midfielder please....?

Milner? Leeds deny that Spurs have an option on him. But what if that story develops?

And who's this Benjamin?

Am I the only one who thinks Milner isn't all he's cracked up to be? Sure he's still young and fairly decent, but he's far from a world beater at the moment, and I'm never sure how much hot young prospects improve as they get into their 20s.
agreed - i havent seen milner done anything exceptional for leeds...apart from his young age, ive seen nothing spectacular. I have seen better younger talents than him...many young brazilians have got great talent atm

Yeah, Milner will do.

I'd rather go for Van Bommel though - possible he would join.

Forget Milner being overrrated -

Rooney?

How can he be compared to Pele?!

I think Milner is potentially better than Rooney. No way could you compare the two now, but the main reason Rooney has made it big at such a young age is the fact that he's physically developed so quickly. He'll live on his name.

and rooney's first goal was decent too + he has a small spark to his game.

Lol. Milner's first goal was decent as well, but that's hardly an argument. I'd put the spark down to adrenaline though. He just plays without fear. If he were playing like he is now at the age of 25 then there'd be no fuss.

He had some record for being youngest player somewhere along the line.

So people were already looking at him.

Then he scores a good goal against Arsenal.

And suddenly he is England's next big star.

He has done well for England - but nothing of note for Everton, and yet it was reported Chelsea would pay £40 million for him!

They were talking about Rooney for a while before his goal against Arsenal that day, they earmarked him as a special (possibly world-beating) talent while he was still in the youth team, if that's any measure of Rooney's rating.

But then the English press is far too quick off the gun anyway.

So was Jermain Pennant. Although to be fair, he probably would have really been something if Man U had snapped him up rather than Arsenal.

True, we're more keen on our English youth

And he's a winger, we use wingers here, he doesn't suit Arsenal's style as they don't use wingers.

Lol. Juwel said something about a big fuss being made over Rooney when he was a youth team player, which highlights his talent. I pointed out that Pennant had the same fuss made over him and yet, even though he is 3 years older than Rooney, no one really cares now, so looking at their youth careers possibly isn't the best way of judging players.

We'll have to wait and see how Freddy Adu turns out.
To a lesser extent, George Weah Jr too. Chelsea have bought options on both

Very few hot youth players go on to improve and improve til they're among the best in the world. Ronaldo is the notable exception that springs to mind; Owen was mooted but has he really improved? He's not really world class. Same with Joe Cole. We'll have to wait and see how Freddy Adu turns out.
Freddy Adu looks good
