Residents of Liverpool are today facing the clean up
operation following
the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Drogba

The Anfield area bore the brunt of Hurricane Drogba,
which hit at 4pm local
time, causing the greatest home damage since 1969.

Tens of thousands of plastic scousers decided to
evacuate early. A police
spokesman said "Normally, you would expect people to
remain calm for 90
minutes, but panic set in, and people were soon in
tears. The roads out of
Anfield were gridlocked only 70 minutes after
Hurricane Drogba first
appeared, and the roads to Cornwall, Dorset and
Hertfordshire were at a
standstill."

Local firms were left devastated. Rafael Benitez,
mayor of Anfield, looked
shellshocked. "The force of Hurricane Drogba
completely destroyed all our
long distance communications, which we rely heavily
upon. The Crouch radio
mast may never be operational again".

When dawn broke over the Anfield area this morning,
thousands of homes were
boarded up, with doors and roofs missing, and all you
could hear was the
sound of car alarms. Although local police advise this
is nothing new.

Mrs Hyypia of Helsinki is particularly worried about
her son Sami, who was
last seen whirling round and round in the wake of
Hurricane Drogba, and he
hasn't been seen since.

A telephone hotline has been set up for those worried
about relatives. The
number is 0800 1-4 1-4 1-4.

That would've been relevant on Monday, or Tuesday maybe. Wednesday is a little too far after the event. Thursday is definitely ruled out, but Friday morning! Come on. You'll be telling a joke about the Carling Cup final next!

PS Maybe i would've found it funny if i supported Chelsea

PPS But probably not

I searched a bit of it on Google, and it only came up with a Swedish Chelsea fan site. How very odd

Hurricane Drogba... I guess... it certainly was a freak accident.

Lucky the roads were so clear. Well, not necessarily luck. There were no away supporters to clog up the roads anyway.

Yeah but I still hear Liverpool fans elsewhere from this site still on about their history and the recent Champions League victory and that was the 25th May so if you thought I was bad...

Plus I don't have much footballing interest to next Saturday so I'm bored. :p:

Somehow I think the European Cup is of greater importance than a premiership match 7 games in!

Anyway, time to put our bickering aside for our mutual (dis)interest in the home teams (Cole and Lampard aside).

Well all know about Liverpool's stance on Europe. I'm afraid that the one Premiership game is not totally irrelevent and independent on the Champions League. It only takes a serious walkover to affect players confidence in other competitions and you're history.

a. Of course a premiership match isn't totally irrelevent, it's 3 points lost
b. EC > one prem match are sentiments not only shared by Reds
c. We were pissed over most of last season in the league, then what happened?
d. The scoreline flattered Chelsea, was barely a walk over.

What if you lost 3-0 to Sunderland? What happens if your Premiership form never gets going? Some of your players are getting on too and some might leave if Liverpool don't meet expectations but it's early days yet.

Getting on? Hyypia, Hyypia, Hyypia and...? We know that Didi hasn't much left in the tank, but he plays in bit parts and can do the job even better than Makalele, IMO. There have been no players to have come out and said they'll leave if we don't win it this year, the next, or the year after. We don't sign Galacticos, Rafa's transfer policy is largely down to players who play for the club and want to be a part of what he's doing. There are no 1st teamers, IMO, whose allegiances lie with their bank manager and trophy cleaner as opposed to their club and fans.

As for our form, we're lacking points, but we're playing well. We deserve more oints, but the simple fact is we don't have them. We lost our first game vs. you, and had previously let in few goals whilst controlling matches. We just can't quite click in the final third. The management know this, and are working with it. They simply have to work with what they have until the next transfer window.

Ok then, our transfer record is £14m. I'm using Galactico as a vaue term, somewhat unfairly, as an established class player bought for extravagant fee, who then gets special treatment. Rafa's biggest outlay was £10.5m for a certain Xabi Alonso.
