England won 1-0. How boring.
I can't see England winning the world cup, with performances like that

There were some pretty decent looking goals in the Wales NI game. I saw Ryan Giggs's free kick and both NI's goals

Nor do I. And all this hype about England are going to win the World Cup, what arrogance (if you apply the Chelsea 'arrogance'). The French could be laughing.

Doubt France will win it. Can see Latin American teams going far, maybe the odd Hispanic.

I lost hope of winning the World Cup a while ago. So much for "this crop of young players will peak at the 2006 World Cup", which was our consolation for the quarter final defeats in 2002 and 2004.

I think we've got a good squad but a crap manager.

Well now it won't matter if we lose to Poland so the team can relax!

He (crouch) definately had a crap game. He's a good link up player, but his technique isn't particularly(sp) good.

I think Owen should have scored today, with the amount of chances he had. But Sven is really annoying me now- we played crap today and were lucky to win.
I don't personally think he was any crapper than many others.....he showed some nice touches first half and released Owen a few times......Crap second half, but then so were most of them....

Watching England is so depressing these days, my mind just goes blank after a while...
As for England winning the world cup, i think Italia '90 was and will be our best chance for a while...we do have good players but that side had so much more presence, in the manager and players....

It was a dismal performance. We got the win but we didn't deserve it.

Neither do I, but I reckon they can go at least as far as us.

Perhaps we should fail to qualify something just to act as a slap in the face to up the performances.

A lot of games under Sven remind me of Taylor's era...just nothing about them. Player's like Terry should be leaders like eg Robson or Lineker were, and some are for their clubs, but none look like they give much of a toss to me, even in the major tournaments....
Maybe they're just too spoilt and pampered and overpaid these days
