You can't really compare the two. At least Gallas can defend.

just the way that he does those midfield overlaps on the left flanks, and attempts to cross to the strikers but with little effect in Gallas' case.

If he gets told to play as a left back then he has to do what he is told by his superior/s. Gallas is a decent centre back.

i suppose decent left-backs are a rare breed anyway. Ashley Cole is one of the best in world, but he isnt exactly a world-class superstar.

So can anyone name an internationally recognized legendary left-back for club or country?

roberto carlos
true - but he is more renowned as a striker lol. Those thousands of 30-yard shots, of which only a handful have been on target, let alone the back of the net.

but i think he does his job as LB. i watched real madrids game on skysports and he played pretty well.

dont deny enjoying the goals when they hit the back of the net:cool: :p:

Another piss up for Arsenal... Cole out, Clichy now injured, Hoyte out on loan!

Controversial: Midfield of Beckham-Gerrard-Carrick-J Cole for the next friendly!

Can't they just call Hoyte back from Sunderland (is it Sunderland?)?
I think he's more likely to play RM Beckham- CM Lampard- CM Carrick- LM Gerrard. I like Carrick, don't know if he's ready yet, but he's probably worth a go.
