That's good.
£3.5m for an unproven 16 year old is hardly good business, but I suppose it's a drop in the ocean to a club who pay £115m a year wages. I'll laugh if he turns out crap/has his work permit turned down (which it won't, knowing Chelsea's politics).

Considering that AC Milan were interested in him shows that despite being an unknown quantity there must be a reason why a great team like Milan were interested. The youngster in question has already played for the U21s side for his country at the age of 16.

BTW has Peter Crouch scored yet? How much did he cost?

Not just Milan, there were others, but had Chelsea not been involved I can assure you that he would not have gone for much more than £1m - such is the inflation as soon as Abramovich gets involved. The country he plays for is Serbia and Montenegro, I would be impressed if it was a team that was half decent.

Crouch has nowt to do with anything. Once again, without scoring, he was a MOTM contender yesterday. Peter Beardsley went through a season without scoring a single goal.

Woah - Boro equalised 5 minutes ago, only for Papa Bouba Diop to score immediately afterwards! 1-2 Fulham!

Poor arguement. Makalele is a holding midfield player; Crouch is apparently a striker.

You can label him a striker, i see him more as a forward. I don't care if he's not a prolific goalscorer, other players (Liverpool and England) like to play with him because he provides good service. His job isn't necessarily to score goals (except when he puts the ball down on the penalty spot  ) same as Makalele. Both allow others to score

I think the irony is in the comparison of a £7m english striker with a £3.5m defender who will rot in the U18s.
