Once again, without scoring
Strikers are mainly judged by how many goals they score I'm afraid.

(Original post by Raindance)
I think the irony is in the comparison of a £7m english striker with a £3.5m defender who will rot in the U18s.
You know better than Frank Arnesen?

You know, value for money Didier Drogba is worth more than Peter Crouch.

Who know better than Frank Arnesen?
Of course, hence 'strikers', but he will come good, as is Morientes. But the media attention on his run is ridiculous, ignoring his all-round play (workhorse, not journeyman) and the fact that we've been banging in 3 goals per game recently whilst keeping the tightest defense in the league. Unfortunately, those who have little else to go on, other than the biased portrayal of pro-London sports 'writers' and 'columnists', enjoy jumping on the band wagon.

Arnesen is a judas who literally took the 30 pieces of silver. I have little respect for him or his judgement.

Y'know, if Arnesan was at Tottenham still, he wouldn't advise paying that much for a kid. It's only the financial situation at Chelsea that allows him to say, "meh, whatever" then hand over a big wad of cash. That was, i think, his point. It's only Abramovich that's made this guy a £3.5m signing.

It depends how you measure value (i assume you mean pounds per goal?)

Editing out the original post didn't aid my understanding either!

comic commentary by the presenter of MOTD2 - "Roberts shoulder barging lessons have been better than Fabregas' acting lessons" (after the near punch up between Wigan and Arsenal)

also chelsea youth beat arsenal youth 3-1 using two holding midfield players and led 2-0 at half time

Does anyone else think this is a piss take?
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=349713&cc=5739
Filan - "Filan was faultless for all of the Gunners' goals, and even got a hand to Robin Van Persie's rasping long-range effort for Arsenal's opening goal."
Wasn't that the one that he allowed to go through his legs instead of just collecting it?

Titus Bramble - "performed with trademark composure and discipline in Newcastle's 3-0 defeat at the hands of champions Chelsea"
3-0 defeat, says it all

Glen Johnson - "took full advantage of a rare first-team start to remind manager Jose Mourinho of his unique talents"

Joseph Yobo - "had one of the games of his career."
In a game they lost 4-0 to a relegation candidate

Richard Hughes - "didn't look remotely out of place as he fought willingly against Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hamann and Xavi Alonso in Portsmouth's defeat"
The whole Pompey midfield was dominated, and they lost 3-0

Lee Hendrie - "the fact that such a graceful and thoughtful footballer as Hendrie could be left on the bench by Aston Villa manager David O'Leary shows the high regard in which modern-day managers hold the squad rotation system"
It just sounds like they're having a laugh

James Beattie - "at one point coming close to forcing Baggies keeper Tomasz Kuszczak in to a save"
coming close to forcing a save, hmmmm

Peter Crouch, well ok, one player deserves to be there
But still "cleverly missing his penalty to allow the Dutch midfielder the luxury of an easy rebound"

Alex McLeish lost the last match 3-0 to Celtic to leave Rangers in fourth spot
I think they are taking the piss. Oh well, it made me laugh

joey yobo was one of the better players in our team on saturday albeit we were all ****, he's one of the best central defenders in the premiership but he has to team up with zimmerframe davey weir.

Picture or file? If it's a picture, then [img]. If a file saved onto your area, then you can just attach it. If not, just link it to us directly.
