Just ask Johan Cruyff finalists of the World Cup and how many medals?
That's a daft example. He won 3 European cups on the bounce and countless Dutch titles along with a Spanish league. He was also European footballer of the year on 3 occasions and is a true legend of the game.

Holland in 1974 were also pretty widely regarded as the best team in the world even if they did lose the final.

Anyone tried to get world cup tickets ?
i have been trying but failing thus far

I really hope Paul Jewell gets manager of the season, yeah Jose and Rafa are up there but what he has achieved is unbelievable.
pardew isnt far behind. when was the last time two promoted teams were consistently in the top 10, and one in the top 6? and neither were champ champions, who incidentally, are favourites for the wooden spoon.

Maybe so but it doesn't pay the bills or get the trophys.
Yeah but im looking at it from a fans point of view being a fan myself. My interest comes from viewing the game rather than financial or business interest which is largely dependent on the result. And at the end of the day the health of football as a business is 100% dependent upon fans. Football never became so popular without teams playing football which was attractive to viewers.

Seems like we will be getting Kromkamp, Gonzalez and Agger come Jan. Wonder what Rafa'll pull out of the hat for the right wing?

Liverpool Football Club has today agreed personal terms with Jan Kromkamp and expect his proposed transfer from Villarreal to be finalised next week. The Dutch full-back is set to become Rafael Benitez's first signing of the New Year in a deal that will see Josemi moving in the opposite direction.

Club spokesman Ian Cotton says: "In principle we have reached an agreement and hope the transfer can be concluded next week."

Looks like it's a done deal, according to the offal. Apparently the player's moving on because he's having problems with the lingo, but is an english speaker.

Speak english, or don't speak spanish? He'd be a decent enough signing. He's got what we need, is quality, and is only 20. Plus the Agadoo chant'll pretty much write itself...
