I thought Arsenal only paid 19m for Reyes? Based on his performances for chelsea last season you could put a decimal point in the 34 m lazio paid for crespo and it would still be too expensive
Though Crespo did a lot better at Lazio than at Chelsea.

Maybe so but i would put many attackers behind him in the list if i had to have them, he was always good but i dont think he deserved to be in the world class bracket, in england v argentina matches he didnt perform very well either.

That he was worth the transfer fee, or at least it seems more reasonable.

argh, he scored 10 goals in 2003/2004 season whereas he scored 13 goals 2001/2002 season at lazio, veron has been out most of the year as well. I dont think 34 million at lazio was justified

Shevchenko scored 24 goals in Serie A last season, so not really.

It is more difficult to score in Italy, that's why strikers in Italy, though they are fine players, often don't score as many goals as other leagues. The Prem is the most freely scoring league.

The seven dwarfs are down in the mines when there is a cave-in. Snow White runs to the entrance and yells down to them, "Is anybody there?". No answer. Snow white starts to get worried. Once more, she cries out desperately. In the distance a voice shouts out "Arsenal" are good enough to win the European Cup." Snow White breathes a sigh of relief. "Well at least Dopey's still alive!"

Like Shevchenko's 24 goals last season? Followed by Gilardino's 23?

gd gd i dont think we need tiago, on the other hand, i want tiago to joing because mourinho seems so sure that he is such an important part of the team. If we fail next season, i can see him saying we should have signed tiago etc etc

Well, he'd play the part of a holding midfielder, right? so, in effect he would either be 'cover' or even a replacement for makelele?
