Good game, good performances, good result.

And nice to see two Spurs players on the pitch!
Defoe the poacher missed a sitter

not sure about Defoe alongside Owen, they are just too similar, Smith was superb in holding the ball up and just really battlnig and offering something different.

SWP is Fookin brilliant, been saying for ages that he should be in the England side....

Downing is without doubt 1 for the future, was quality at Sunderland in division 1 and seems to be living up to his potential at Boro, give him a full season in the prem and we'll see if he's up to it.

if Dyer and Jenas can get in the England side then there is no reason the likes of pennant, Downing and SWP cant.

Dyer and Jenas are so over rated it's unreal

Not forgetting Sean Davis, and maybe if Carrick joins Spurs, he can get in too!

I do think that Defoe did a job holding the ball up, which Owen can also do, and Defoe's pace and greater scoring ability, indicates he is possibly the better choice.

He is apprently close to a £15 million move.

In other news, Michael Carrick looks set to join Spurs in a £3.5 million move.

This seems to suggest either Redknapp or Brown will be leaving, but judging from what they said when they arrived, I think the management team want to keep Brown.

Redknapp to Portsmouth maybe?

My sources are suggesting that Finnan may be about to sign too, and that Arnesen wants to clear out more players before any more new ones arrive.

So, just Taricco to go then.

Liverpool will keep Finnan now that Nunez is out. They don't have a right side.

Real Madrid have taken a sudden interest in the english players. First Becks last year, then Owen and now Woodgate.

Its cus English players are the best.

Why oh Why are Newcastle selling Woodgate though?
He is amazing!
I wanted him to go to united, and be back alongside Rio.
That would have been a wicked partnership!
But now it'll never happen.

Because despite being amazing, which I agree with you on, his recent injury makes the money offered too good to turn down.

Hamstring I think. Will be 5 months once he's recovered. Also had double hernia and other stuff.
