Yes it was. Someone can watch a team play and evaluate their performance to be the best thing they've ever seen and therefore the best in the world. This is likely to be unpopular, although it has justification. All opinions have justification one way or another.
OK.

Can we get back to talking about football please?

Bono I apologise for rash personal comments made while I was wound up.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Monaco - Next game.

I don't know yet, I haven't thought about it. I'm wondering about tomorrow's Villa - Newcastle game. I think 2-2.
Villa-Castle Or Chel-Monac?

Just sat through two of the most boring games I've ever seen. They should use that Sunderland match as a cure for insomnia.
Who played, and what score?

Proof that football supporters are all mad. West Brom fans at the end of the game singing "by far the greatest team the world has ever seen" with cheesy grins on their faces. How anyone can smile after watching that heap of tripe is beyond me.
Not as mad as goalies

Goalies don't spend 20 to 50 quid on tickets and countless more on transport and other stuff to watch a game that's utterly depressing in every way, and then be pleased about it!
Have you seen Chris Kirkland!

Or Barthez (damn him)...

I used to play in goal. I had so much fun getting the ball blasted at me full pelt from 2 yards away, and burly strikers diving in at me two footed
Satisfaction of the masochist.

I did enjoy wearing a gimp mask while playing.
What is a gimp mask exactly?

Oh and congratulations to Celtic who sealed the Scottish title today.

Actually many 0-0s are quite thrilling. Common fallacy that goals = entertainment, it doesn't have to.

No, its just Celtic are getting better!

Doing what Arsenal have done so far this season - unbeaten, mostly winning their games.

bono did say usually 'many', 0-0 games are very defense orientated, while others are very good quality defending and missed chances hit the cross bar etc

Plus Rangers are over-foreign and haven't got enough players "brave" enough for the blue shirt. I saw the Old Firm game recently, McLeish threw on a few Scot youngsters who really gave Rangers a surge. Oh well.

Looks like Sunderland will have to settle with the risky play-off's for a place in the Premiership. Unlucky to concede that last second goal, but I'm sure they have it in them to win the play-off's (the play-off final must be the best match in British football each season in terms of everything that is at stake)!

If it hasn't already been mentioned, may I draw your attention to the PFA Player of the Year nominees.

Player of the Year
Thierry Henry
Patrick Vieira
Jay-Jay Okocha
Frank Lampard
Steven Gerrard
Alan Shearer

Young Player of the Year
Kolo Toure
Glen Johnson
Scott Parker
John Terry
Wayne Rooney
Shaun Wright-Phillips

What do you reckon? Who will win? Who do you reckon is most deserving (even if off the list)? And who else can't believe no Man Utd player made either list?!

My opinions later.

Henry for me wins the player of the year easily. Young player of the year for me is between john terry and shaun wright philips. But john terry i know has had an immense effect on the chelsea team, very solid defender. Shaun Wright Philips, who is related to ian wright? (his adopted son i think), is immense to his speed and skill.
