I don't like the fact that he makes it sound like he's doing us a favour.

yeah, when watching him say it on camera, he really didn't look comfortable answering.
he does seem a little big headed now which is a real shame. then again doubt many footballers are not big headed at all any more with the amount of other publicity they get
