What was all the ruckus in the Man City game? I was out of the room and could hear Rodney Marsh getting high blood pressure, then I heard Leicester miss a penalty.
45 mins: Tarnat fires Man City in front with a spectacular free-kick
66 mins: Scowcroft pounces to head home a scrappy equaliser
84 mins: James saves Dickov's penalty amid scenes of chaos

Woah, did the ref award a penalty at 'The Theatre Of Dreams®'? What the hell was he thinking, doesn't he know its forbidden?
 Penalties have been awarded at OT, just not scored. Well, Malbranque and Murphy this season, after Ruel Fox all those years ago...

End of an era, refs are no longer obliged to help you out. Gone are the days of equalisers in the 99th minute too (home to Leicester, first game of the season sometime in the late 90s ).
Refs don't help us out! What is this stereotype, we get just as much from refs as anyone else.

Perhaps there should be a weekly poll, so for different weeks you might have "who will win the Cup" or "player of the month" etc...
This thread is INSANE!

I do believe this was due to a huge stoppage cus there was blood all over the penalty area.

Not any more, but they did. At one point Man U got 83% of referring decisions in their favour (90s sometime).

Comedy moment a few weeks ago with Ferguson complaining that Wenger 'chose' the manager for a game - it was flaming Ferguson who started the whole thing off many years ago by banning David Elleray from reffing Man U matches!
Elleray's a twat. Durkin's the best in the League.

Elleray was clearly the best, but has retired.
He had it in for Keane.

He's good but he has an odd-shaped head. He reminds me of a ginger Robbie Keane somehow

I used to like Uriah Rennie, but then he went mad and started sending players off for no reason. Elleray was clearly the best, but has retired.
Rennie's a farce. What I like about Durkin is that he'll go by the book whether or not he likes it, he can only be accused of applying the law and occasional human error. Other refs are way too inconsistent and egoistic.

nah, i don't think you'd be able to catch a mod to change the poll. I just thought it would be cool to have a) a poll on peoples fav teams on going ala harry potter! and b) it provides a list of who supports who as its a public poll.

It could always be removed if yoou didn't like it.

Actually I like that poll idea, then it acts as a reference so readers of the thread can see who supports who.
