So, where does everyone think Parker will chose, and are you happy Raul distanced himself from Liverpool? I am

I honestly don't think Liverpool or Newcastle are in for Parker.

This is a post from an EFC forum I regular..
This is my take on the situation, take it or leave it...

Newcastle season ticket renewal deadline is on Monday.

Optimism is low at Newcastle; the fans hate the manager, the players hate the manager, the fans hate the players, everybody hates Freddy Shepherd etc.

Thus, season ticket renewals for the "legendary" Geordie support have been a bit slow.

Mr Shepherd has a "word" with the Newcastle local press, starts some rumours about the "imminent" arrival of Scott Parker.

Optimism rises; season ticket renewals go up with the prospect of a flagship summer signing.

Monday passes; season tickets renewed; Parker chooses Everton!

I say this with confidence because we have had a bid/ been speaking to him/his agent for weeks whilst Shepherd/Souness have been on holiday, and have not even made a bid yet.

Added to this, Newcastle do this EVERY year - case in point Owen and SWP linked this summer, the sham Rooney bid last summer etc.

Even their own fans are onto it.

It makes sense!

Parker will choose whoever offers him the most money, as well as a regular place. I reckon he might be swayed by Newcastle in actual fact. He'll get the money and the starting position guaranteed. And the geordies can only improve, whereas Everton have nowhere else to go but downwards. European football may be attractive, but he's sensible to the fact that Everton won't have the opportunities they've had this season.

I wouldn't have minded Raul coming, but there really wasn't much point in signing him. He doesn't have experience playing as a lone striker, and he's recent form hasn't been too prolific. Anyway, Rafa likes his 4-5-1, and we have Lord Djibril, Nando & Pongo don't forget. Not to mention this Crouch escapade.

Except Parker isn't that big of a signing for a team with Shearer, Kluivert, Dyer and Jenas already.

Yeh it does. TBH, I don't really care what he does. I reckon he's hyped up, and I could think of better players for 6m. Moyes is taking a risk in signing him. It will ultimately mean Arteta missing out, unless you change your formation - which you won't.

I think there are other positions you lot need to turn your eye to. Pistone is an absolute disgrace for starters. And you take the piss out of Traore?!

The only player I'm slightly disappointed about is Morientes, but he hasn't had regular games, hasn't been able to fit in with the others as jetting off to Europe more often than not, and he's new to the set up and league. Still, 3 goals in 14 starts isn't that bad.

The only player Big Dunc has outscored is Morientes, and only by 2 goals whilst featuring in almost triple the amount of games. Cisse's done as well this season as a player can do, who's career was effectively written off. However, Baros (the prick) outscored all of your players. Yes, even your beloved Cahill!
