Torres is rated by his club at £30m, not the £16m Chelsea are offering!

I know Torres is good but he hasn't really proven himself so I don't see why Chelsea would want him over Shevchenko or Adriano.

I heard that Mourinho had decided that getting players with potential is a better tactic than trying to tempt big players away from big clubs, which is proving very difficult at th mo. So he's improving Chelsea's network of scouts.

I reckon Mourinho's reluctance to get big names is also to do with the fact that if he has a team of proven world class players no-one will rate him as a great manager however much they win. However with a team full of drogbas then everyone will credit the coaching etc

A good coach who makes rubbish signings. All his good players were inherited.

Liverpool in for Luque apparently, for £8m rejected, they want £12m. Im sorry but i prefer Kuyt still.....younger, more goals allbeit an easier league but still.
EDIT: I prefer Luque now [but for less than £12m] I didnt realise he can play Left Wing aswell!!

"The Independent says at a meeting yesterday it was discussed whether or not Spurs would accept the transfer of Scott Parker to White Hart Lane in return for dropping their claim over Arnesen."
