Well Manchester City didn't take our UEFA Cup place after all. And Forsell to Birmingham instead of Everton.

Henman's getting battered. :hmpf:
That's a steal for Birmingham!

Forssell failed a medical at Everton, otherwise he'd have joined us, so fair play to Birmingham for taking a chance on him. But I hope it blows up in their face, I hate plastic face Steve Bruce and those brummie scumbags!

I'm not saying he rejected you. You rejected him. It's jsut been a bit of an anti climax... no Forsell, no Parker.

In Moyes we trust.
Moyes didn't think Forssell will ever be fit enough, so he pull out of the deal. As for Parker, well seems the only interested clubs are Everton and Newcastle. He wants European football and so his only real option is Everton. I can't see Liverpool going in for him, especially now Hamann has signed a new deal.

I personally think he will end up stayin at Chelsea.

Noone. Apart from Davies.

If Parker wanted Everton, he would have signed by now. It's just he wants a better contract, and Everton have a policy about players receiving less than £40k pw whereas NEwcastle will match his current package.

 =\

I'm well confused wid this...

"The Turkish champions were due to start in the third qualifying round but will take the automatic place normally offered to the holders. Further down the rankings, the Polish champions Wisla Kraków will move up to the third qualifying round and the eventual Romanian champions will take the available second qualifying round spot, rather than entering in the first qualifying round."

(From http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL...Id=302359.html)
A place is reserved in the group stages for the title holders as the highest seeded team (which contradicts the theory that the league is the only way of qualifying for the tournament, because it isnt - a place is ALWAYS reserved for title holders). However, instead of giving that to us, UEFA moved 3 teams up 1 spot (Fernebache to the group stages, Krakow to round 3 and the romanian champions to round 2) and stuck us at the first qualifying round. So contrary to popular belief, no team has been sacrificed to allow us in, infact those 3 teams have been done a favour. Why uefa just didnt put us in the group stage as title holders is beyond me, I can only suspect they are hoping we "draw" Everton in the 3rd qualifying round and theres only 4 teams left in the group stages from England.
