i'd like to see liverpool nab him. and if swapping players has got anything to do with it i think it'd be more likely they'd want to swap with us and get milan baros. Lyon and houllier can have him
We don't need him. Alonso, Gerrard and Hamann is enough. We need some cover but Essien won't come to sit on the bench.

Be interesting if Baros would want to play for Houllier again though.

I don't think Essien fits into the plan either

1st June 2005, Milan Baros confirms he is contemplating joining forces with Lyon and their new manager: "Houllier gave me a chance to play big football, he took me out from Ostrava to Liverpool as a 19-year-old. It's important for me that I should play constantly. It would depend on what Houllier says to me. We will see, but the coach must want me."

If the big transfer tag does go ahead then I can safely assume Arsenal will be out of the picture first, then possibly Man Utd and then Liverpool, which leaves one team standing...
Arsenal got like double the money of United to spend. =\

But yea, can't see either of them signing him for the prices being mentioned.

I don't see anyone (but Chelsea) wanting him for the prices being mentioned!

I can think of areas of our squad where the money would be better spent (we already have Didi, Xabi & Stevie), but Chelsea do seem to need him. Even so, he's not worth £15-20m, but then again neither was Carvalho, Drogba etc.

i'm getting pretty ticked off with miserly wenger..we have like 40 mill or 30 to spend and we've been linked to every player in the world, yet he never makes ne serious moves...i thought hleb might be a potential signing but now chelsea r chasing him too, that means we're out of the picture

This is a first that I've known, Arsenal having more dosh to use than Man Utd. Thing is, whether Wenger will actually use all of it and wisely remains to be seen. Apparently, he seems to flunk on buys when he spends big.

Better move long term for him imo.

But yes, if you'd given him his precious 55k you'd probably have signed him.

Ah well, they have Davies? They might end up having to sign talented wasters like Bowyer/Bellamy etc at this rate...

I'd happily take Bellamy, proven quality player in the Premier League. Moyes would get the best out of him, i've no doubts about it.

Yeah he's a spoilt brat and a horrible little b*stard, but I wouldn't complain if he won a last minute penalty for us against you lot at Anfield to step up and score the winning goal..
