Thought I could create a thread, in which the minority of year 9's on TSR could share grades and revision techniques with each other.

I didn't know that people in Year 9 liked to ego boost as well.

Guess you learn something new every day.

LOL, i never revised other than a quick read through class notes from year 7-9, not saying i got all EP, but i'm just saying, it never affected me.

In all reality, the only thing important is to get a good final grade in maths so you'll be put in top set..

I only did 2 gcses in yr 9. I am now in yr 10. I suggest starting revision 1-2 months before your exams. I was targeted an A in ICT,started revision the week of the exam and ended up getting a C :-(

At least you can learn from that mistake though. Year 10 thread btw

I didn't do any GCSE's in Year 9. For tests and stuff, did a bit of revision the day before to jog memory but that's it. No technique, didn't really explore through different techniques Just looked back at class work...

Congratulations, those grades are really good especially if you were in year 9 at the time. As a year 9 student myself I haven't completed any GCSE's. However, this year is more of an introductory phase into our what our GCSE courses are going to consist of.

My results from last term were:

Maths 8b
English 7b
Science 7a
ICT 7b
Spanish 7b

R.E : A* (practice exam)
History : A (practice exam)

Cores:

Maths: 8a
English: 7a/8c
Science: 7b but A* in practice science coursework
French: 7b/7a
RE: A in practice GCSE exam

Options:

History: 7c-7a (didn't have a final assessment)
Computing: Haven't started yet but I got a 7a in IT last year
Graphics: Haven't started but I got a 7b/7a in class last year

Are they good? And what do you think my targets will be?

Well obviously they're good
Tbh you can't really predict what you'll get for GCSEs based on your targets. Like in year 9 I was predicted an A* for history, ended up with a B. Was predicted a C for biology ended up with an A*. See what I mean?
The only accurate predictor of the grades you'll get is how hard you work in year 11 (and year 10 for subjects like history). So yeah, keep working hard and I'm sure you'll get A*s

Ahhh the pointless year 9 grades :3 , I remember getting

Maths: 8b
Science: 7a
English: 7b
Geography: 7b
Those grades didn't mean anything to me, you will see GCSE is different but by no means harder.

Ooh, unlucky! Don't worry, that's still a really good level though! This year, in the first 3 of the 6 maths tests we had to do, I was always 1 mark off an 8a, but I managed to get it!
