i wear skirts in the winter. especially with a nice pair of warm tights and boots or flat(depending on the type of skirt)
On a practical note, when its raining i HATE when the water soaks up your trousers...you dont get that with skirts!

I wear skirts in winter. With tights/boots, or longer skirts with pumps (obv. if it's not too cold :P )

Ooh, that's so true! I wore a skirt in the rain once and someone was saying it's a stupid idea- ''you'll get cold'' etc... Except it was the opposite- I didn't have to walk around with wet trouser alllllllll day!! :P

Wearing skirts in the winter is so sensible - especially for keeping dry (as you mention!). I wear nothing but skirts, love love love them. And they show your shoes off lovely

Yeah, skirts and boots always good (depending on the skirt of course!!). I think I might be living in my skinny jeans and boots this a/w though...

i love weaing skirts in winter! but i do get funny stares as mine tend to be short

I wear skirts all year through. Thick tights and boots are brilliant.

I have only started wearing skirts in winter this last year during the day; night time doesn't count!

I worn a denim mini, with black tights and black boots, but got perved at when I was at uni so might not do that again!

I do sometimes wear skirts with my boots in winter... But i live in jeans for most of the year...

Jeans are great at any time of the year, roll them up in summer, wear thick socks under them in winter, but during the rain or the snow, rising damp you get is just not a good look, and makes you cold :frown:

When I could be bothered to be feminine, I did wear some skirts throughout winter. Teamed with long boots and either thick pretty tights, or a standard pair of medium denier tights.

Somewhere where there's lots of cold weather? ZURICH?? :p:

I've lived in Siberia until I was 15, and I managed to wear skirts in -20 all the way to -45. Yes, my legs looked fat from all the layers of tights I wore (like 3 100%wool tights) but you don't really care, it's better than being cold.

I wouldn't advise wearing skirts too often when it's cold (like -25 and colder)unless you are prepared to dress warmly underneath it, because you can easily get you feminine organs cold and that can be very serious (up to the point where you can't have kids and stuff). So be careful with that but don't let this scare you off skirts!

I so want to go to Germany one day, may be I'll bump into you and say "Entschuldigung" and you'll say "Macht nichts" and we'll never know that we ever interacted in TSR...

I've decided I hate jeans and will now be wearing skirts all year round. I can't wait to buy some kick arse knee high boots and funky tights =p

Reply 14

knee high boots don't fit me :frown: My legs are either too fat or they are simply built that way - I'm size 12 and I'm sure I've seen bigger girls wear knee high boots :frown:

I have that problem with some knee highs, but I found a pair from ASDA that fit great, you just have to look around =) I got them last year and they're a bit shabby now so I'll have to buy some more! If you really struggle, I think places like evans do knee highs for bigger calves

Go to Dune! I got some amazing boots from their last year; £40 down from £75. I must add that I never buy things from the sales, but this has been my one good find:smile:

Reply 17

I have never worn a pair of trousers, my parents don't believe in girls wearing them so I am always in skirts or dresses.

Reply 18

Thanks  I'll try to find some this autumn!

My sister had trouble finding knee-high boots because of her size, but she found that some styles have an elastic bit which allows for some leeway in sizing.
Or, do what I did and find some soft fabric boots instead of leather ones, since the fabric ones are a bit more spacious. I thought I'd never find boots to fit until I found the fabric ones - they're very smart too!
