Original post by WisefireReferring to Exercise 4E, Edexcel, Chapter 4, Page 59, I don't understand this:
If a transformation of f(x)+2 is done to the graph of f(x)=x^3 (meaning a vertical translation of +2), the new y-coordinate (of intersection) is (0,2). I get that.
But, the new x-coordinate (of the point of intersection), according to the mark scheme, is ((the cubed root of 2),0), or "((cubrt(2)), 0)". I can't really see why. I mean, I obviously get where that comes from. But could somebody explain/go through the process of deduction step by step?
Thanks.
