What do you mean what type of clause is it? Like, it's declarative but I guess that's not what you mean?

I'm still not really sure what you mean lol

Well, Jane is the subject obviously. I think "taught the students to trust" is some sort of complex verb phrase. Taught has a direct object (the students) and then a full infinite follows (to trust). Then themselves would follow. Idk if that's right though, weird sentence.
